Project Details
The Berkeley is a distinguished 5-star hotel situated in Wilton Place, Knightsbridge, London. Established in 1867, it has evolved into a symbol of British luxury, seamlessly blending historical charm with contemporary elegance. Nestled between Belgravia and Knightsbridge, The Berkeley offers guests picturesque views of Hyde Park. The hotel features a variety of rooms and suites, each meticulously designed by acclaimed designers to provide both comfort and style.
The nature of the project encompassed the design, manufacture, and supply of a single set (8.51m²) of Deep Bar Grille heel-safe access grilles for The Berkeley Hotel Knightsbridge (Emory Building). The grilles are constructed using a 20mm x 8mm profile bar with an 8.0mm slotted aperture, supported by 20mm x 8mm bars, resulting in an overall grille height of 40mm. Designed for pedestrian use, they are rated to withstand a load of 5kN/m² and are manufactured entirely from 304-grade stainless steel.

Design, manufacture, and supply of custom 304-grade stainless steel supporting angles for the stone plinth and walkway grilles at The Berkeley Hotel Knightsbridge (Emory Building).
Stone Plinth Support
A 270mm x 200mm x 8mm stainless steel supporting angle featuring a bespoke foot design, fabricated as per the supplied drawings. This custom solution was required due to restrictions on drilling into one of the walls following the installation of glass.
Walkway Grille Support
A total of 40 linear meters of 50mm x 50mm x 10mm stainless steel supporting angle, designed to provide structural reinforcement for the walkway grilles. The complexity of the installation required additional labor to ensure precise fitting and secure placement.
